Pass the needle through the adjacent hole and pass it through the fabric up to the reverse, it is not necessary to stretch the thread, just make sure it is not knotted or rolled up.
Repeat the passage twice, then perform the same number of passages for the other two holes.
To fix the button, stretch the thread and make sure it doesn't come off:
pass the needle from the rear side to the front, without inserting it in the button holes and pull the thread.
Tighten the thread well and wrap it twice around the threads that hold the button.
